My brother works at Recess Coffee House in Syracuse, NY. I had this image in my head of coffee beans playing at recess after visiting the shop. So this coffee painting was born. It doesn’t really go with ANY of the work they have up in the shop currently (skatery/bohemian/outsider) but I thought - what the hell, right?

The swing set is made of straws, and the seat is a knock box. The animals on springs are bent spoons. The slide is a modified steam wand, and the merry-go-round is a french press plunger. And the soccer/football players in the back are using sieves as goals.

Though this isn’t the first time I’ve painted with coffee, it’s the first time I’ve used Canson watercolor paper ($6 fffuu-). Do not recommend highly. It bleeds like a mo’ on the textured side, which I used because that’s what I do at home with similar Strathmore paper. Luckily I had planned on outlining in Micron anyway.

Not super strong, composition-wise, but I had almost no time to work on this and it needed to be finished before I left.

Hidden in the image: an abandoned toy, a buried bean, and a cactuar

My brother doesn’t have a scanner, so I had to take crappy phone photos, sorry. D: EDIT: Tumblr is doing something weird to the largest image and making it blurry, so here’s a link.

The Wind Waker Fairies
An Xmas gift for a friend. It didn’t come out as amazing as I thought it would but it was fun to work on! He said one of his favorite events in the LoZ series is when you get the ice and fire arrows in Wind Waker (see the little fairies at the top?) I’ve never played Wind Waker myself but I ADORE the Great Fairies! The Fairy Queen is a little creepy, though.

Part of one of the daily comics I’ve been making for my mom. It’s a tiny Tank Girl (magnified here from the scanner.)

One of the daily comics for my mom. I drew a lot of monsters that day, because I had started my new watercolor series.

One of the daily comics I’ve been making for my mom. I had this weird dream that my hair was really long. It’s already pretty long in real life, but I gave myself a huge rat’s nest for comedic effect. :D

One of the daily comics I’ve been making for my mom. This one is from the week I launched Cat’s Fur. She thinks some of the things I make are weird.

Part of a daily comic I’ve been doing for my mom. This is my boyfriend, Brian. His beard is actually getting pretty long, and it wasn’t even for No-Shave November/Movember.
